Reading XLS (excel) file using PHP

Hi,

I am looking for a utility which will help me read an XLS (excel) file using PHP without using windows tools eg COM.

I am using BIFF writer for generating excel sheets through PHP but haven't found the vice versa.

Help appreciated.

I don't know the answer to your Question, but I would be interrested in that BIFF writer, can you mail me and tell me how it works or send me an example code?
