Need some help starting....

Hello...

I'm trying to start using php and mysql on my homepage.

Instead of making a lot of html pages, i want to use one php file and get the info i need from a mysql db.

I need a php script that will fetch the info i ask for in the url.

Exemple:

http://something.com/index.php?=help

This will get the help "file" from the db.

Annyone how can help?

Suggestions on how to set up the db?

change http://something.com/index.php?=help
with something like http://something.com/index.php?page=help

then in index.php:

$result = mysql_query("SELECT html FROM htmldatabase WHERE page=\"$page\"");
$row = mysql_fetch_array($result);
$html = $row['html'];
eval($html);
?>

This is very simplistic but gives an idea.

Personally I wouldnt take this approach. I use a header and footer system

I have a folder called style in which I put the top half of the page code and one called footer for the bottom half of page code. I then include these files in on every page so it automatically makes the page from that.

Hence this gives just as small files and makes them a lot easier to edit.
