sorting rows by unix timestamp

I've stored my dates as unix timestamps (using strtotime to convert from standard date input) in my mysql rows but when I try to sort the rows by descending order it puts the dates like '8/3/01' above '3/02/02'. How can I fix it so that it goes by the year also?

Did you try ascending order? I might be missing something though 😉

That would put it in the opposite order I need it though. I need the latest 5 enteries according to the date.
