so - is there anyway to have more than one value for one field ? ie.- Movie: Action, Comedy
this way someone could get the same movie show up reagardless of whether the query is for an action or a comedy movie ... if not - any ideas on how one might do this ? this is very important - i would appreciate any help, thanks.

The trick is to have multiple rows when you want to have multiple values. I'm not sure of your exact requirement. See my answer to "steve" on the Subject "INSERTING" a few posts down from here. I show him how to have multiple items associated with a row in one table by making a primary key/foreign key relationship in another table. A join is then used to "pull them together".

Having several rows may led to data redundency. So, it is better to redesign the database so that redundency can be minimized!!!

But that was just my point. "Normalize" the database so you only have one copy of "parent" data. Use a second table to store the multiple "child" data. Relate them with a key and JOIN them when you need them.
