Chained <Select> retrieving data from db

hello there!
I have a problem!

I have <select> html box that retrieves information from a database, everything ok! 🙂

Now I want another <select> to choose the type of info I want to display in the first select.

eg:

Select Box: 1|2|3

I access the database creating a second Select with all Messages of type (1 | 2 | 3, depending on the first selection)

I hope I explained right!
