Hello, wondering if anyone could help me on a query. I simply want an sql statement that will replicate an existing table, and it's entire contents, just under a different table name.

Create TABLE newTableName as Select * from oldTableName;

This works, thanks again. Is the 'where 1 = 1' necessary though? If so, what does it actually mean? Sorry, I just like to know why I'm doing things!

Dear Sarah,

If you want to create another newTable with all fields of the oldTable with out its content,

You use:

Create Table newTableName as select * from oldTableName where 1=0;

This copies the whole fields from oldTable to NewTable with out its contents,
