Evidently it was too much for even a response, nevertheless I did find the answer...It would appear that there was a newer version of either mysql or ODBC that fixed the problem, I altered my columns holding the access date value from 'char' to 'DATETIME' and eventhough mysql prob. won't know what to do with them it suffices for this particular project, in which all I needed was for some data to be populated into a seperate table, unseen by access, populated through a cron job for a web site, mysql has yet to alter (distort) the data, so I'm gonna close this chapter and turn the page....
