problem the install postgresql.7.2.1

you to run ./configure, the message that result is "configure: error acceptable cc found in $PATH."

you to run gmake the message that result is "you need to run the 'configure' program first. See the file 'install' for instruction install. gmake: *** [all] Error 1"

I need install the database in the partition '/data' and need wath the postgresql save the database in the partition '/data'.

I need change the number conecction 32 a 90.

yesterday we had installed pgsql7.1.1 on RHL 7.2, just blindly following the installation instructions given in "http://www.commandprompt.com/ppbook/index.lxp?lxpwrap=x486%2ehtm", and we were not stuck anywhere in middle. it installed smoothly, and is working fine.if you are in rhl then dont use gcc, or gmake, just say ./configure after unpacking the source, and then make , make install, before that u need to create user called "postgres"..youwill get all the instruction in that link.

vi .bash_profile
add PGDATA path

make changes as needed
