PHP-Interbase Connection

When I try to connect to an interbase database how can I capture the connection status without the user getting a Connection failed message.

What I want to accomplish is a Simple Login Screen for users to login. Ifthe connection fails I want displau a custome error message.

Hmm,

try to check the value that ibase_connect returns.
I think it is -1 when something goes wrong.
