I am not one to hide myself when I need some advice. Well you see me don't you? I need everyone's honest opinion on this. I do not have the money to go with Oracle. Please keep that in mind. I am going to have a site that will have a bunch of entries in it and need a good database. Now I have heard that MSQL is good for it. What is the best to use? Also how to you edit a MSQL database? I have a guy that will hook me up with MSQL but the host I am using is hooking me up with MySQL. So can SQL be able to be called from External pages and have it give an answer back? If so how? One system as you guess is on Win2K and the other is on Linux Red Hat. So Red Hat having SQL is not an option and Win2k doesn't want to have SQL and MySQL. I really need some advice! Thanks! Ziggs
I have no opinion of the various DBs out there, but it sounds like you should incorporate a DB abstraction layer in your work. Check Sourceforge.net search for "PHP database abstraction". I'm sure you'll find something worth using.
