MySQL selecting timestamp

Im having a problem with timestamp in MySQL I have a column in my DB thats type is timestamp and want then to have a select query to return all the relevent matches on a given day but I can work it out...

I need the date and time to be stored so cannot change to type field in the DB - any suggestions, What should my query be?

MySQL provides a set of built-in functions for sorting dates.

I can't help anymore, i don't use TIMESTAMP. I prefer using the linux secs and store them in an integer field. Much more precise :-)

try
select * from YOURTABLE where
YEAR(your_timestamp_column)=2002 and
MONTH(your_timestamp_column)=5 and
DAYOFMONTH(your_timestamp_column)=2

this will return all entrys for May 2 2002 in YOURTABLE when your_timestamp_column is the name of the field that houses the timestamp
