phpMyAdmin

I just installed phpMyAdmin onto a linux box that had MySQL running already. We where using telnet to do all the work however I prefer to use phpMyAdmin.

After I installed the phpMyAdmin application everything seems to be running ok; however I can not see the database that was already there.

I can only choose from 2 databases

MySQL
test

How do I connect the original database to the phpMyAdmin?

There's a file named config.php.inc. In there, you state the HOST, USERNAME AND PASSWORD for the server. Maybe you have two servers running in the same machine (i dunno about that chance). Anyway, look at that file and see if everything is correct. If it is, that means...

I'm guessing its a permissions problem. That phpMyAdmin is running as web, or apache, and that "user" doesn't have the permisions to access the existing database.
