WinSQLAdmin 1.3 Error

Hi All,

I loaded "mysql 3.23.47 - win" on my windows 2000 Dell laptop (It works fine on my Gateway running 2000 -- the only thing that does). When I go to start the service from the winsqladmin tray icon it asks me if it should "Start the Service Manager for the MySQL Server?" to which I click 'yes'. The response is "Fails to start service. Please wait 30 secs to try again." Posting to a forum is my last resort. I hope someone can help.

Couple of things to check:

1. Who is the mysql service actually running as?
2. Does it have correct access to the data directories?
3. Do you as your normal user have access to stop and start this service?

I'm currently running W2K, Mysql 3.23.49, WinMysqlAdmin 1.4

On my machine I've created a new user with limited access to run both Apache and Mysql and have no problems.
