Question mark in column heading

I'm using PHP as a front end to a MS Access database. I've got this table that has a column in it named "XXX or YYY?" . Note the question mark there - it is giving me trouble. I don't know who in the world would put a wildcard character in the name of a column, but I can't get access to it at all. I've tried referring to it as \"XXX or YYY?\" and \"XXX or YYY\?\" but neither has worked.. Anyone have a work-around? At the moment I'm seriously considering just renaming the column, though I'll have to make sure that that doesn't affect anyone else using this database firs.

can you just remove the "?" and not make a workaround for it? This seems like the most logical thing to be doing.

Well, it's not my database, I'm not the one that uses it, I am just paid to write a front end to it 🙂 I will try to get the question mark removed, though, since it is unnecessary for it to be there anyway..
