dbf,php in linux/unix

Can anyone please help me, how do I connect to a database in dbf format using PHP if my environment is linux or unix? is there an odbc driver in linux or unix, just like in Windows? I already tried developing a website in php, dbf, windows nt. I connect to my dbf through odbc. Now, my problem is porting it to linux/unix. I don't know how to establish connection with the dbf.

you can see the doc from php.net by searching "dBase functions". But you are better to migrate the dbf to mysql or other db server due to the poor performance in getting dbf from php.
