Backing up mysql DB

Hello,

I have like 30 DB's on a server. I am trying to write something that will auto-backup every say day.

Can this be done in php? I could then cron it to run daily or whatever.

I do not know code for backing up or if there is a better way.

You could do this without PHP -

crontab -e

0 0 * /usr/local/mysql/bin/mysqldump -uusername -ppassword databasename > outputfile.txt
