Why has my question been ignored? I have searched not only your forum, the manual books and INSERT INTO select suggest and states explicitly that you can insert many rows which my SQL query asks for. I really would appreciate some help or answer.

You can insert one row at a time with mySQL. Not sure what you've been reading, but one row is it. If you have a lot of INSERTs, then they all have to be run one at a time. INSERT's run really fast so you should have no problem running a loop to go through all of them. For my Search Engine's keyword list, I'll frequently loop through and INSERT a 1,000 records at a time. Haven't had a problem yet. (Fingers Crossed)

Right O' Lars. I wasn't even thinking about the INSERT SELECT option. Probably because I never insert from one table to another. But you are right, that is definitely an option assuming the data is somewhere accessible.

Thanks for your reply. I did not see any reply for 6/21 but maybe something wrong with my machine. Any way I did finally get the INSERT SELECT with a JOIN to work. Here was the problem ...I did not make the receiving field a primary key. The entering field data was primary. I feel that I have read everything on INSERT SELECT and feel fairly confident.
