converting memo field from Access to SQL

Hi SQL gurus:

I have to store some text having maximum length of 65,536 characters in a table column in sQL Server 2000. Which data type will help me? I know might "text" should be used. But i don't know how to use it and how to point the file and how to define the pointer? Pl help me.
