3 results in a row... table question

If you have more experiences with PHP and SQL, this question is looking like a joke for you... I'm sorry.

I want to present the results of a query in a table. But I want to have three results in a row like this. <tr> <td>1</td> <td>2</td> <td>3</td> </tr> ... if you know how that works, please tell me!

you would need to have a counter ..

$t=0
while { fetch_array }

if ($t %3 == 0 ) {
echo"<tr>";
}
<td>content</td>
if ($t %3 == 0 ) {
echo"</tr>";
}
$t++;
