PHP and PostgreSQL

We have an application is is running on apache, rh72,, php and portgresql. When we access any php pages, the response time is very fast; however, when we access a php page that requires data, it is extremely slow. Is the anything in php/apache that will increase this?

There's about a billion ways of improving database access speed. Read the sections in the Postgres manual on optimising postgres (shared memory buffers and sort memory), using indexes and running vacuum and running analyze.
