Order by date 10.06.2002, 01.10.2002 etc

hi there!

I would like to have a order by the date....but I had to invert dd.mm.yyyy logically to yyyy.mm.dd before ordering can I achieve that in one go from the database?

do a select statement like:

SELECT UNIX_TIMESTAMP(date_field_name) from table_name ORDER BY date_field_name ASC

as a general rule i would store your dates in the format yymmdd to facilitate searching

if you wish to display the date later in ddmmyy format use the string functions to break it up and reorder
