Count Function

Is there any way to set up a table field to automatically assume the value of some count() function?

I guess I'll provide some more helpful information in regards to my question.

Basically, what I'm trying to do is speed up the display of an overview page. The page currently displays that stats of a group of links: # of links, raw clicks, and unique clicks.

So, for each group I essentially have 3 select count() statements executing.

Obviously, the more groups you have, the slower to page generation become.

Any suggestions?
