avoid send query twice?

Hi!

my english is poor, so i hope you understand my problem:

my php-script does an insert-statiement into a database.
depending on the success of the statement, i link further to another html-side with this html tag:'<meta http-equiv=\"refresh\" content=\"5; URL=...\">'

now if i press the browser's 'back' button , the insert-statement runs again and in the database i have the same row two times.

does anybody know how to avoid that?

the simplest way would be having the database check for an existing identical record (given that you don't allow complete identical records in your table!):

e.g.:
// check first
$sql = "select count(*) from table where value1=$v1 and value2=$v2";
$existing = execute...the...query($sql);
(this part depends on your database)

// now do the insert if check was ok
if($existing == 0)
{
$sql = "insert into table values($v1, $v2)";
execute...the...query($sql);
}

--- or similar to that.
