MySQL, Select distinct rows problem.

Hello here is a MySQL dillema. Any help is greatly appreciated.

I want to select distinct rows by email, and also wish to select the id from those distinct rows.

Here is my query:

$query ="SELECT DISTINCT (email), id from testCustomers";

Since my id is always going to be unique, the distinct query is worthless.

Which of the possible id do you wish to retrieve?

Try:

select email, id from testCustomers group by email, id;
