HELP - too many connections!!

was using mysql_connect, but now got locked out of mysql database coz too many connections on socket.

have changed to mysql_pconnect, but still unable to connect.

I am using a hosted server, is there any way of resetting sockets myself or do I have to put in a support call?

I'm a newbie and certainly no expert, but I have experienced this myself and can tell you that I had to have my host resolve the problem. They attributed it to a run away process - I think they were being nice and not saying that I had spudged the server....

Did you resolve it by simply changing to mysql_pconnect?

No, I use mysql_connect.
