ODBC call failed

I've set up my MySQL database to accept an ODBC connection. I've got MyODBC and installed it.

From Win95/Access97 I have no problems, upload/download tables great.

From my Win98/Access2000 PC I can download tables but not upload anything.

I get this when I try and upload.
ODBC Call failed [Microsoft][ODBC Driver Manager (#0)]

Is it something to do with Access2000?
The settings are the same on both PC's

I am getting this same problem and did a search on Google to find your posting. Have you solved this problem yet?

im having the same problem i think

with the additional error message "information type out of range"

I have resolved this problem for my scenario by replacing the MyODBC driver string with the connection string provided by the Web Host. In other words there is a driver mismatch with the application server and one needs to know how to connect to the drivers installed one the application server. Should you desire more details about my particular case feel free to email me.

Can you please describe in detail as to what your web host did to solve this problem., so that I can formward those to my web host and ask them to do the same.

Are you using a MyAccess plugin :
Access 2000

Access 97
http://www.mysql.com/Downloads/Win32/myaccess97_1_4.zip
This is needed for Access to be able to export to a MySQL database.
My earlier posting of a solutions referred to the connection string needed when using UltraDev and asp, and for that my host replied as follows:
"While developing the asp on your PC you will need to use the MyODBC driver to connect to the MySQL database - and then change the driver reference to the JDBC driver which we have installed on the webserver eg :
ConnectionString="DRIVER=org.gjt.mm.mysql.Driver;URL={jdbc:mysql://mysql.easyspace.com/dbname};uid=username;pwd=password;"
set con = Server.CreateObject("ADODB.Connection")
con.open(ConnectionString)

Thank You for your prompt reply. I', getting a slightly diffrent problem.
I'm trying to:
get external data -> link table/import from MS-access 2000 and i get the following error

The following error message pops up an error window
ODBC-call failed
[TCX][MyODBC]Access denied for user:
'<my MySQL database userid>@adsl-<my IP address>.dsl.snfc21.pacbell.net'(Usin password: YES)(#1045)

i dont know why it is trying to find the database user id at my DSL service provider, which is pacbell. or is it..i'm not sure??
My domain and database is registered with my web host.
I have configured the MyODBC driver with all the information which was provided by my web host. which includes
my domain name,
database name
database userid
password
port number

have you seen something similar.
