does anybody know whether I can use PHPMYADMIN with PHP4. I am used to PHPMYADMIN so much. Or do I have to use something else ? Or do I have to install also PHP3 on the server in order to get PHPMYADMIN running ?

Sure you can! All servers supporting PHP4 handle the .php extension and that should do it.
There is one incompatibility that is listed whereby the string "0" is treated as being empty. However, we're using PHP4 with PHPMYADMIN and it seems to work okay.
The best way to do it is with Triad. It will configure everything, php, mysql, apache, perl and phpmyadmin.
