variable in mysql table

I want to put variables in a blob. Lets say I have a story and I want to place images in particular areas of the file. I place $image2 after the first paragraph. The in my php I have:

$image2 = <img src='image2.jpg'>;

then when I echo that field which is a blob it actually just prints "$image2" within the story rather than showing the image.

any thoughts?

just what is in the blob and what is in your html?

in the blob i want to put

$image

within the field story somewhere

then in my html i pull $story from the table then:

<?

$image="<img src='whateverpic.jpg'>";

echo $story;

?>

story is the blob from mysql, it just prints $image rather than

<img src='whateverpic.jpg'>

That won't work because the data from the field in the database does not get parsed by PHP.

Read the manual about the EVAL() function.
