Browse result set in groups of 10

I would like to set up a web page that will take the results of a query and display them in groups of 10. For example; if I query a table and return 35 records, I would like the first page to display results 1 through 10, with a 'Next >>' link to the second page. I would then like the second page to display results 11 through 20. The third page would then display the next ten records and the last page would display the last 5 records. I can set up a query to display a certain number of rows from the result set (using the mysql_data_seek() function), but how do I set up the 'Next >>' link to display the next set of results? I hope this is clear enough. If not please let me know and I'll try to explain it more clearly.

that is not a standard one like database dependant
