can't get php4 to talk to mysql on linux

php4 doesn't have mysql support on my linux.

When I look at the phpinfo page, in the configure command line I get "--without-mysql".

What can I do? Any ideas?

re-compile. There is a good how to called soothingly seemless on http://www.devshed.com which will be a good place to look. It gets mysql, PHP, SSL and Apache all up and running. If you don't need ssl , you can skip those commmands during the configure routines.

Thanks Matt. I've re-installed apache and php4. Bit of a hassle but does the trick
