may i know what is RPM??????
RPM stands for Redhat Package Manager. A .RPM file is a package that the Redhat Package Manager can automatically install. Many popular pieces of Linux software are distributed this way. PHP3 is on the RedHat 6.2 CD-ROM for example.
and is i386 stand for win32 ???
i386 is (in Linux Speak) a reference to the Intel family of x86 processors - the 80386 (very old), 486 (quite old), Pentium (old), Pentium MMX (old), Pentium Pro (old, rare), Pentium II (recent), Celeron (recent) and Pentium III (new) chips. Software (or packages) that have i386 in their names have been compiled for these processors and should run on them or any clones (AMD, Cyrix etc.).
Win32 refers to the 32-bit versions of Microsoft Windows - Windows95, 98, NT3.51, NT4.0 and 2000 are all regarded as Win32. Win32 software WILL NOT RUN on Windows 3.0, 3.1 or WfW - and it is important to note that Win32s is not the same as Win32.
mySQL for Windows 95/98/NT/2000 source (ZIP file) is just only 2.5 mb (from official site)???? but why other website is about 8mb ?? and some is 4mb ????
Could be any number of reasons. It would help to have the URLs.
after i download the 2.5 mb one, but why i cant find .exe file ??
When you download source code, it is up to you to compile it into a .exe. Windows users are almost always better off downloading "binary distributions" where the .exe is already built.
3.23.22-beta: is shareware of freeware ?
Neither. MySQL is undergoing licencing changes (I think), and I believe that MySQL is now covered under the GPL, but you are advised to check this. The latest stable release of MySQL is 3.22.32.
Under Windows, MySQL used to be shareware, but I still advise you to check the licencing.
A final piece of advice - you only need one question mark per question - using loads will only wear out the keyboard sooner 🙂
