Opening a MS Access db on Linux with PHP

I’m running PHP3 on Linux. I have a MS Access database. Can I open this database on Linux using PHP?

My guess is no. From what I understand, opening/editing an Access database requires MDAC components installed in the operating system. Windows will have this when Access is installed (or the component package installed seperately) -- but AFAIK, Linux doesn't have or use MDAC components.

I've thought it over and I will try to export the access db to text and then import it with PHP. Hope that helps.
