MySQL Primary Keys

Hi,

I'm fairly new to MySQL & PHP working together, so correct me if I'm looking in the wrong place...

I'm wondering if there's a standard data type for creating a unique ID field, and that gets incremented every time a new record gets stored on the db.

If there's no data type for this, how would I go about making a field a unique ID field that updates on the fly?

Try a definition of:

CREATE TABLE foo (my_key_field INTEGER NOT NULL AUTO_INCREMENT PRIMARY KEY, my_other_field INTEGER, ..... )

That should get it for you.
