dumping mysql database and phpMyAdmin

I have what I thought to be a simple question, but it has turned into quite an issue.

My web hosting co. can not give me direct access to their mySQL server. I need a static IP address.

They say I must use phpMyAdmin v2.0.3 which is installed on their servers.

The phpMyAdmin site gives no documentation what so ever.

My question. How do up upload a dumped mySQL database to the server?
Does anyone know:
1) How this can be done with phpMyAdmin? or
2) Is there a basic PHP script which can accomplish this?

Create the database that you want to have your tables created in.

Select that database from the list on the left of the screen.

Select the button "Browse" from under the Run SQL section.

Find the dump file on your hard drive, and select it.

Hit the "Go" button.

That's it that's all there is to it. I must warn you that this information comes from my installation of phpMyAdmin which is v2.0.5.

When looking at db you should see this link :

Run SQL query/queries on database

And in the text box below it you can paste your dump. It also has below that :

---

Location of the textfile:

Which you'll use to locate file and it'll paste it (import) into your database.

Now, when you're looking at a table you will see this :

---

Insert textfiles into table

Which will insert a dump into a table.

So, use the options accordingly.

My confusion was aided by the fact that my web-hosting company has V2.0.3 and hence this feature is not available. I will request them to upgrade.
