has anyone got phorum to work on mssql on a windows 2000 box?

Hi,

Yes, I did with phorum 3.2.7/Win2k/PHP4.0.3pl1/Apache or IIS5.

I use php/the mssql70 extension.

In common.php uncomment the line 40:
// $db_file = './db/mssql.php';

in db/ directory:

Copy sybase.php to mssql.php overwriting existing file.

Edit mssql.php and replace all the functions beginnig with sybase by mssql

In include/ dir rename
forums.php-dist => forums.php
forums.bak.php-dist => forums.bak.php
header.php-dist => header.php
footer.php-dist => footer.php

Follow the instructions in the docs/reame.txt for details about configuration.

I've done it few months ago, so maybe I missed something. Let me know.

Curious...so how was the preformance? Was this a life system of just fooling around?

I guess with mssql it can handle multiple inserts etc faster...?

It runs fine with IIS/PHP.

I just give it a try for evalution purpose.
The load test was good enough but I think there is a bit of tuning and some code modification to get the best of mssql.

modifications? you mean stored procedures and maybe changing some of the select statements to take advantage of ms sql right? ok that's for the tip!
