Error logs

Hi

I am using PHP3 and MySQL.

Over the last couple of days, MySQL has been freezing and therefore hanging the dedicated server I have, rendering it useless until the machine is rebooted.

I am not going to simply ask what causes this, as the question is way too open, but where do I look and what should I look for? I am sure there are error logs written I just don't have a clue where to look.

The server has very low traffic at all times.

First, make sure your mysql is the latest release version. Second, try streamlining your mysql usage by switching over to mysql_pconnect() instead of mysql_connect(). I'm not sure where mysql logs are stored but a simple locate mysql | grep log should find it.
