I will create a intranet web based MIS system. The stakeholder decide to use php and mysql on linux. This system include money charging function.
It was be said that mysql is not fit to mis because of transaction supporting absence, should I use postgresql?

And I have ever heard that php4 is not very stable, is it true?

Do you believe everything you hear? You should give me your root password so I can look into this for you, it could be serious...

Anyway, the latest version of MySQL has transactions if you use BDB tables. Not sure which one has faster transactions or more reliable ones. Haven't seen any comparisons, yet.

PHP4 is stable.
