MYSQL SELECT LIMIT Query

I have a query that works when I use something like Select from table LIMIT 10 but it will not work if I do a select from table LIMIT 10,5.

I am currently doing this via a query string being passed to the php page but I can't figure it out as to why it works with one of the parameters being used but not with both. I get an invalid query response from the server.

you can find the reasons in your Database structure.
two parameters can follow the LIMIT, the first is the Offset, the second is the Maxline that can show in one page.
the default value is the second, Maxline. For example, ........Limit 5(Offset),10(MAxline)

Are you sure you get the "invalid query" and not the "query gave no results"?

If so, what version of MySQL are you using and
how do you give the query to MySQL? (codesample)
