MySQL(on Linux) from JDBC on Windows ..

Hello Guys,
I am running a MySQL server on my Linux Box ...
I am running my JDK(JDBC) on my PC.
I want to connect to my MySQL server(on Linux) and fetch data. can some one tell me how do i do it.

i am able to connect to MySQL server running on my PC.
and i am even able to connect to a Remote MySQL server running on another windows machine.

but the problem is with the MySQL server runing on a linux box.

any suggestions ..

Hi Danny,
I am also facing the same kind of problem. After reading lot of references I came to know that we have to add a user on the linux server with the host name as the system name or IP address on which you're working.
Here's an example !

User name = martin
password = mysql123
host=system3

Then Grant all privileges the user.
GRANT ALL ON . TO martin@system3

Then restart the mysql server.
