mysql indexing

if i have set up a mysql db and control it via phpmyadmin via my web host,

how can i add indexing to it ??

are there any functions to set up various indexes on fields ??

how about:

ALTER TABLE t2 ADD INDEX (d), ADD PRIMARY KEY (a);

I'm puzzled. You can make indexes with phpMyAdmin. Perhaps you didn't look hard enough?
