Best way to transfer data between dbs

I recently switched hosting companies for one of my websites, and I was wondering what the best way is the transfer the data that I have in one db to the other.

Depends completely on what DB you have.

Most DB's offer a "dump" kind of solution, where the entire database is "dumped" into one big file that can be imported back into the database for backup/restore purposes.

Dump would be your best bet, I guess, but my hoster has restrictions on importing files to the db...security, they say ;-( If you're running MySQL, use phpMyAdmin for trying.

If it doesn't work, wait a few days, and I'll have my sync script ready. It should work with two online servers as well...I hope. Drop me a line, and I'll keep you posted on the dev.
