moving databases

Hello,

I am moving a mySQL db to another server, is there anything I need to setup on the new server to get it to recognize the transferred db? I just basically copied and pasted my db's directory under the data folder. Of course, db user account to access that db has been setup.

Sounds like you're using windows (copy and pasted).

I can tell you with *nix that you can just stop the database, copy the directory for the db to the new db root, and start the new db.

Like you mentioned, you'll also need to setup security for the new db, but no other changes need to be made.
