How do they work, how to optimize your queries with indexes.. and so on..

yeah.. and also 12.4 How MySQL uses indexes, however it's just a brief...

I'm looking for some detailed explanations with good and different examples.

exactly... I was looking on many resources in internet but couldn't find anything... :/

Either indexes are really very hard to maintain and understand or they are not so important... but I don't belive in that really...

Anyways, maybe here you guys, could explain me (us) how to get down to indexes?

How to they work and how to use them properly? How to define your queries to get max. advantages of using indexes?
Or maybe where it's better to not use them at all?
