INSERT INTO statement (mysql).

Hi, I have a SQL query, which is inserting into a table, of which the first column is a "AUTO INCREMENT" column..

but, for SOME of the rows i enter, i want a certain column ('thread') to be the same as the first column (the auto increment one)..

any one have any ideas howto do this?

woops, i forgot to mention that i dont want it to be mysql specific, because this app will be used on multiple sites with differente databases.

You can only do that with a seperate update query after the insert query.
