I keep getting a "one of the library files needed to run this application cannot be found" error when I try to view a .php page.

Here are the steps I used to install:
1. copied and renamed php.ini file to c:\windows
2. copied php4ts.dll to Windows>System (msvcrt.dll was already there)
3. Rightclick-edit PWS-php4, changed to path "C:\php\php4isapi.dll". Saved, then double click to add the info to registry
4. made sure root dir allowed scripts to execute

Can anyone help? I'm running Win98 with PWS

I had a similar problem using php and apche in win98, I finally put the dll's in both the php dir and windows/system dir

try that and see if it works, you should be able to do it without re-booting.

I copied all the .dll files that were included in php-4.0.1 into Windows>System, but unfortunately, I still get the error about missing library files. I did not modify the php.ini file at all, just drop it into the c:\windows. Any ideas?

With my installation, I had to edit the php.ini file in and put it in C:\Windows\ If you didn't edit it, maybe the problem is there. Also, I don't know about PWS specifics, because I am using Apache for my server.

The php.ini file has places for you to set which dirs contain which files. You should at least look through it. Just to check if nothing else. Those are all the words of wisdom that I can muster though. If it still doesn't work for you, someone else will have to take over. =)

        Good Luck
