How to connect the mysql

Hello,list:

I just install php4, apache/1.3.21 for win32 and mysql 3.22.32-shareware-debug for win32. Those could run normally. But I use IE to use the page with mysql function. However, it could not connect with mysql. I should how to modify ini files.Any help appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Did you get the error about the unsupported function, or a blank page....or another error?

YOu shouldn't need to edit any files but try un-commenting the mysql.dll in the php.ini file.

Then do a <?php phpinfo(); ?> script to see if mysql is working.

If it's not working...make sure mysql is running....by pressing "control+alt+delete" and see if it is listed in your device manager.

I learn php by myself from non-programing background. One of the silly mistake in editing php.ini is not to identify location of extension module in it. I have uncommented the mysql.dll already but it is not working at all. Until I put something like "c:\php3" for the location of php. It works fine.

Hope my mistake is the same as yours, so you can fix it easy way.

I use the test page with "<?php phpinfo(); ?> " script.
The result is following:

MySQL Support enabled
Active Persistent Links 0
Active Links 0
Client API version 3.23.10-alpha

How should I do?
