PHP & oracle8

i want to use php with oracle8i. But, when i for instance execute: ocilogon("scott","tiger",$db); , i keep getting error messages about the ocilogon() function, which could not be found.

i searched on the internet, and found that i should use a loadable module (e.g. php_oracle.dll or something like that).

could you please mail me "this" module, or give me the URL?

sorry, nog php_oracle.dll but php3_ora8.dll (says personal webserver, but i'm running php4.0

I had the same problem with php4.0 (using Win2k and oracle8i R2 8.1.6).

Advice: don't use ora functions with oracle8i
use oci functions instead.

Anyway try this fast solution:
step 1. include php_oracle.dll into php.ini
If the problem exists:
step 2. include php_oracle.dll into your page: dl('php_oracle.dll').

the best solution:
download the latest php distribution (from www.php.net).

email me to send you the oci libraries for 8i (work for NT and Win2k but I don't know about win98).

and iclude the above dll into your php.ini file.

Hi, got a problem over here.

Using Oracle 8i with PHP4.0 on linux server.

When i do a simple connection,

it say that

Fatal error: Call to undefined function: ocilogon()

Is there any problem with oci function with linux system
