Nope, if you want to start Apache with SSL enabled, you should use APACHE_DIR/bin/apachectl startssl
If you want to use Lynx browser to look at SSL-enabled pages, you should also install Lynx-SSL.
Of course, you should check whether Apache is running using 'ps -ax' command. And note, that Apache should be initially started as a root, allowing to capture 80 and 443 TCP/IP ports.
