SAFE MODE Restriction

I have a script owned by nobody which includes a script owned by another user. I have the following error message :

Warning: SAFE MODE Restriction in effect. The script whose uid is 500 is not allowed to access ../connect.php3 owned by uid 99 in ...

I work on a Linux server running Apache/1.3.12. I have the same Linux distribution at home, but I don't have this problems. Can somebody help me ?

PHP has a "safe mode" which stops you from using PHP on other peoples files.
THis is often used by ISP's who run PHP as a CGI.

read the manual for more info.

i had installed the php4 version.
then,I test the ldap and find I can't use it.
Anyone can tell me that I must install something,then I can use ldap function in php4.

howdy!

this is for script test-purposes only, since turnin off safe mode lets users change any type of variables!

edit php.ini and turn safe mode to OFF
restart apache e.g.: /etc/init.d/apache restart
try out yore script again (should B workin)
