where is mysqld?

I installed Apache 1.3.12 and PHP4.0.1pl2 under Redhat 6.1 with no problems. I used the version of MySQL built into PHP.

Now I can't find the mysqld binary to launch the MySQL server.

Do I have to install MySQL separately and start over, or does PHP include everything needed for MySQL?

Yes Charles, you will need to install the MySQL server seperately. The part that you refer to "Mysql version" is only for PHP to send and receive data with MySQL. It is not the actual server.

You do have to install mysql seperately, but you don't need to start over.
PHP should work once you installed MySQL.
